How Much Does Web Hosting Cost?

Web hosting can cost a few dollars a month on an introductory shared plan or $35 a month on a managed WordPress plan, based on the US offers below. For a small business, I’d budget from the actual first bill and the renewal rate. A low monthly price can require several years of payment upfront.

These examples show three different billing arrangements. Use them to compare what leaves your account today with what you’ll pay once the offer ends.

What the First Bill and Renewal Look Like

Published US offers checked November 8, 2026. Amounts are in USD before taxes and optional extras.

Plan Initial offer After the offer
IONOS Essential $4/month on a one-year term, or $48 over that term $8/month
Hostinger Premium $95.52 upfront for 48 months at $1.99/month $10.99/month for the same term, or $527.52 for 48 months
Kinsta Single 20GB First month free on the offer shown $35/month on monthly billing or $350/year on annual billing

What Else Should You Budget For?

Price your domain renewal and the mailboxes you’ll need after any trial. Check whether backup restores, migrations, or extra storage cost more. If you hire someone to maintain WordPress, budget for that separately from hosting.

How to Compare Plans With Different Terms

Pick the same time horizon for both plans and count the cash you’ll actually pay within it. A four-year prepayment is a single upfront bill, even when you only plan to run the site for a year. For a monthly plan, add the charges due during the period. Compare the renewal bill separately so you know what staying will cost.
